Here’s what our community members have to say about their experience living and thriving at The Glenn Hopkins

When mom passed away in June, I along with my brothers were so touched by caregivers and staff that stopped to give us hugs and their condolences and share how much mom meant to them.  Equally touching was the beautiful expression of love, care and concern that residents and staff showed by attending mom’s funeral mass.   As you know, mom’s life was filled with burdens and challenges, yet she was one with lived life to the fullest, had an amazing, positive demeanor and mad everyone’s life better by just knowing her.   She will be immensely missed by so many.   Please extend to those who knew mom our thanks for their love and support and for all they did for her at The Glenn Hopkins.   We hope some good stories and memories of her will remain there and be shared.  “

-Renee’, Daughter

"We would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the administration and staff members of The Glenn Hopkins community for the care and kindnesses shown to our mom over the past several years. She really enjoyed living there and made many good friends.   She enjoyed the bridge games, craft classes, lunches out and occasional shopping trips including the one when she inadvertently “shoplifted” a small necklace when it got caught on the handlebar of her walker as she passed by a display. And she really cherished the ability to go to daily mass. Even on the couple of occasions when she was away at other care facilities to rehab for medical issues, she always wanted to “go back home” to The Glenn Hopkins. We were always impressed with the facility itself.   Clean, well maintained, bright and welcoming. It was comforting for us to know that mom was at a place she really liked. Again, than you and all the staff."

"My mother has been at The Glenn Hopkins over four years. Everyone has treated my mother and our family with kindness, love, and respect.  I thank God everyday for the peace and security I feel between my daily visits, knowing my mom is lovingly and skillfully cared for by her tender aids, caring nurses, kind dining staff, wonderful memory care activities coordinator and staff, devoted pastoral care staff and caring and involved administrative staff. Mom is almost 102 now and i feel The Glenn Hopkins has been a perfect choice for us."

Many thanks - daughter, Paula

I want to thank you for the beautiful plant and kindness and wonderful attention you have given me. I love and enjoy living here at The Glenn Hopkins. I feel at home. Thank you all so much!”

“All the staff that cared for our dad, thank you so much whatever your part. The Glenn Hopkins is a wonderful facility, we only wish Dad and family could have enjoyed it longer. Time went too fast!”

-Nancy, daughter

"My Parents moved into their apartment a little over a year ago. Beginning with the initial tour, to recently addressing some questions and concerns of my Mom, each Staff Member with whom they and their sons have interacted has been extremely responsive, compassionate and helpful. Over the past 12 months, I have been impressed that no question raised by my Parents appears too trivial for the Staff to respond to them quickly and with obvious care for their well-being. One top-of-mind example is a concern raised by my Mom that with the recent name change from St. Therese Southwest to The Glenn Hopkins, that the facility would lose its Catholic identity. Several members of the Staff went out of their way to reassure her that would not occur, giving her great peace of mind. The family is also very pleased to see how hard the Staff works to make The Glenn Hopkins a fun, homey environment, as evidenced by the enormously successful pancake breakfast held for residents and their families earlier this month. When I think of The Glenn Hopkins, the Rule of St. Benedict comes to my mind: All visitors are welcomed as Christ."

-Jim, Son

It was great to cross paths with your team during the Alzheimer's walk! With thousands of people there, the odds were against that happening once, let alone twice! Seeing people that cared for our mother through the final years of her journey, made the walk even more special. The fact that there were also employees from The Glenn Hopkins heading to the walk, in the same light rail car we were in, was quite a coincidence. I only know this because we could hear them talking about how much they loved their residence and missed them when they were gone. That was very special. It has lead me to think that mom's spirit was there with us, directing our paths to cross. Thank you again for the hard work you do, and the care you give your residence as well as their families!

Sincerely, The family of Barbara Compson

“Thanks to you all for the wonderful care and attention [my parents received] while they lived in Assisted Living! They really enjoyed their time here, and the 8 years they lived at The Glenn Hopkins. I has been a warm, caring, safe and upbeat environment for them. Mom always appreciated the kind words, smiles and compliments. Dad enjoyed the sense of humor and how everyone would joke with him! They felt very much at home here! I, as a family member, am grateful for all the cooperation, assistance and the caring staff! May God Bless you all”

“The tenant meeting was great and the information was meaningful. I have often thought of filling out an employee evaluation form but I have a problem. Your staff is so good to me, always positive, always smiling and always helpful, that I have trouble selecting a person. I would put all the staff that I deal with up for the Best Employee. I am glad that I have made my home with The Glenn Hopkins these last ten years and would do it again in a heartbeat. May God bless all of you.”

"My mother moved to "The Glenn" formerly (St. Therese SW, Hopkins ) 3 months ago from Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 91 to be near me.... It was a major transition, at any age, but she is delighted that she made the move and absolutely loves her new home... The staff is exceptionally caring and has made her transition so easy and comfortable. I would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of living an independent lifestyle with "care amenities" to join this community... I am very thankful that we made this choice."

- Debra Lake

"Independent Living at The Glenn Hopkins offers a variety of experiences.  A good start is the range of apartment configurations from which to choose.   The friendliness of tenants and staff is really apparent.  Activities include recreational as well as volunteer services to other seniors.  Vans offer transport to nearby destinations.   But what truly marks The Glenn Hopkins is its campus, unlike any other."

- Hal Schwind, Resident

“I am attracted to The Glenn Hopkins by the outstanding architecture of the building and its setting among wetlands and woods, and the walking paths through the area. There one encounters birds of all kinds, wild turkeys, rabbits and deer. Mostly however, is the interior design of The Glenn Hopkins. Well-maintained and constantly updated lobbies, hallways, apartments of several designs and the dining room. The outdoor patio with its many chairs, tables and views is also spectacular”.

-Father Ralph Goman - Resident

We will celebrate Mother’s 4th year of residence in the Towers at The Glenn Hopkins. She moved there from Arizona to be closer to her “kids” (us). She’s been so happy there. The staff is extraordinarily attentive, efficient, engaging and noticeably dedicated to helping all residents feel happily busy. Never in her “former life” had she had the opportunity to get her hair done every week just by taking an elevator two floors up, never having to go outside. I am the daughter who lives a flight (or two) away, and I love visiting Mom and her new friends. I consider them some of MY friends now. I highly recommend The Glenn Hopkins to anyone looking for wonderful, independent senior living.

Thank you for caring for our mother at DayBridge Adult Day program! Our mother arrives with a smile for a welcoming staff. The staff has been professional and updates us promptly with any concerns.

My parents stayed at the Glen for a short term rental. The entire staff is unbelievable (especially Scott, Chrysauna and Paula)! Even though it was a short term rental they were treated like royalty. My mother Helen, lived at the Glenn for the past 11 years. Until December 2016, she was in a senior apartment at the towers where she was quite independent. She used the bus for shopping, attended daily Mass, and many other activities. She recently passed away at age 96 after receiving excellent care at the Willows for the past 3 months. Almost everyday she said, "The people are so nice to me here." The facility and organization are very good but the staff and their commitment to personal care is outstanding!

When we decided to move into a senior apartment complex, The Glenn Hopkins was the only place we considered. It had a stellar reputation! Over the years, The Glenn has exceeded our expectations with excellent apartments, dining, environment, friendliness and multiple services and activities. Both staff and fellow residents have been cordial and helpful. Our many needs and requests have always been readily addressed. We have made many good, faithful friends. We are especially grateful for the almost daily opportunity to attend Mass and the many faith enriching events.

After my "significant other" fell and broke his hip, the rehab facility at which he was staying strongly suggested that he not move back home but enter an independent living community. Thus, my search began and I spent many days looking for just the right place for him. I visited at least 6 facilities and although people were very welcoming and every place had nice living arrangements, I felt each time I left, that there was something missing. I don't think I could have put into words what that "something" was, but I just felt a lacking of something important. The day I came to The Glenn, I was tired. I was frustrated, and low on fuel. And yet the atmosphere of the building spoke. The two different staff people I spoke with on two different occasions, were both so genuine that it seemed like their mission was not to fill an empty apartment, but to help me sort things out. Their energy boosted mine. I remember leaving The Glenn that day with both a head sense and a body sense that this was the place for my best friend. This has certainly proven to be the case. He is happy, he is thriving, and he is safe. When I ask him what he likes most about The Glenn, he says, "Everything". When pressed he mentions the wildlife he encounters on walks and all the activities that are offered every month.

I did not choose this place.....my family did.... and I am very happy with their choice. I have a nice bedroom and a separate office. I really enjoy the windows in my dining & living room spaces. I sit at the table and look out at the green space. I play bridge every Tuesday afternoon with other residents which I enjoy! The Glenn Hopkins is a nice place to live in my Golden Years!

What I like about The Glenn Hopkins Senior Community is the choice it gives me of independence or community or a good balance of both. I can choose to pray, rest or read in my one bedroom apartment with no noise from adjoining apartments or participate in the many activities offered including: worship services, parties, movies, cards and outings. I like the wonderful housekeeping and laundry service and heated garage and friendly conversations at meals. The monthly rent is affordable with no large initial down payment. I would recommend The Glenn Hopkins to anyone!

We have had 4 family members reside at St. Therese Southwest over the last 11 years. We feel this has been a wonderful "home" for all of them and are so pleased we found St. Therese at just the right time in their lives. The apartments are roomy and comfortable, and if there is ever a maintenance problem, their staff takes care of it right away. The living environment is unique in that the residents can gather in various areas and visit, but they retain their privacy of their own apartments. I have NEVER encountered a facility that offers so many wonderful social activities, outings, musical programs, religious programs, etc. that St. Therese offers which are always optional to attend. The convenience of having a beauty shop, a library, chapel , party rooms and guest apartments is wonderful. We have needed some home care assistance and are delighted that there is a home care department "Gentle Touch" in the facility. These individuals have been a godsend to us--allowing our family member to remain living in their own apartment which of course, they call home. The dining room is nice, and the staff strive to make the food and experience wonderful. Most importantly the staff at St.Therese always show great respect in working with the residents and their families. We consider the staff in all areas "top notch" and are so grateful that our family members have found this wonderful residence to enjoy in their senior years. We feel so fortunate that St. Therese has been there for our family.
